Emma seems awfully suspicious.
At Emma's request I will not officially label this the highlight of the trip for me, but I would be remiss in not mentioning my delight in seeing a seagull trying to eat a dead pigeon it had fished out of one of the ponds. (And also for the record, I was not the only one who rushed to get a photo of this as it unfolded.)
Las Ramblas, the boulevard or esplanade running from the Placa de Catalunya down to the waterfront, is pretty much Barcelona's tourist epicentre.
You can buy pretty much anything somewhere along Las Ramblas, including birds.
