An unusual surprise in Minneapolis was an RAF VC-10 tanker aircraft. I cannot imagine what might bring such a beast to Minneapolis of all places.




Northwest must have a funky new baggage-handling system in Minneapolis, because these ground crew guys were scanning barcodes on luggage as they loaded them onto the plane.




After we taxied out to the runway the pilot came on and told us we'd have to hold for a few minutes while they reprogrammed the navigational settings. This sounded to me like a rather strange thing to have to do (it's never happened to me before) but it did provide a nice opportunity to watch planes come in for landing. I'm always up for that.
