I was really looking forward to the road ahead, and it did not disappoint...
























There were a lot of dire warnings on roadsigns about rockslides on some parts of the road. Here traffic backs up a bit while they work on clearing some rocks from the road. At one point I passed a pickup with a snowplow blade on the front -- it took me a minute to figure out that they use those to clear loose dirt and rocks from the edges of the highway.




After driving south for many hours (and enjoying it thoroughly), I decided it was time to head inland and find a major highway heading back north. The road leading from around Cambria back inland went through a small mountain-like pass. On the ocean side, the precipitation keeps everything nice and green.
