Having found a spot to eat we asked for a spot in shade, not realizing that the restaurant had a stack of complimentary hats for people wanting to enjoy the sun without burning. Meanwhile I was only just starting to notice that I'd been taking in a little too much sun throughout the day.




Three-word review: cute, mediocre, expensive.




Getting closer to Pier 39, the worst San Francisco has to offer in terms of tourist traps, we came across the same bungee ride I'd seen back in 2004. This girl was having much better luck than the hapless gent I'd seen before.




At least the boardwalk at Pier 39 offers a nice vantage point for Alcatraz.
