The Freemont Street Experience is a section of what used to be the main drag that has been turned into a pedestrian mall and covered with a giant pixelboard. It's not a roof, though. Water comes through it when it rains. We know. We happened to be there during a statistical anomaly known as 'precipitation.'

These jokers were covering bad 80s tunes badly, to the delight of many in the crowd. Well, OK, to be fair they weren't all bad.
In addition to some of the scuzziest casinos in all of Las Vegas, the downtown area also featured a big outdoor advertisement video sign with a bizarre ad for fried Twinkies (1.3MB mpeg file - some day I'll figure out how to make it smaller). Between that and the cover band, it was all the hilarity we could handle. So we headed back for our last night at the hotel and got ready to leave the next morning.
