[ Me, on the car ]

Our car had served us well, so before returning it I took the time to pose with it for some calendar shots.

[ Dashboard view, with odometer ]

This picture, taken in the car rental lot, was meant to illustrate our road-warrior prowess over our 8-day trip. But you can't really read it, so I'll tell you what is says: 2261.9 kilometres.

[ Bill Reid sculpture ]

Our last taste of Bill Reid and the ubiquitous native culture in B.C. came in the airport, where they have a rather stunning jade-coloured piece with its own viewing area.

[ Security dude on Segway ]

Alas, we were to be stuck in the airport much longer than we had planned. Bad weather in Toronto meant planes were late arriving in Vancouver, with a trickle-down effect on our flight home. While we waited, a security guard on a Segway surveyed the situation.

[ Our plane arrives ]

At last! Our plane is here! We can go home. Sadly, not so. Originally scheduled to leave at 10:40pm, it was after 1am when we finally made it into the air, thanks to a dearth of cabin crew to make our flight a happy one.

[ Tired, but happy ]

It was a long trip, but we were on our way home. Tired, but happy.

And that's pretty much it.
