Apparently there is some debate about the exact disposition of the famous explorer's remains, but I gather there is evidence to suggest at least some of him is there.




We decided to climb the cathedral's tower without knowing for sure just how long or hard the journey would be. Turns out it's not so bad, and made a great deal easier by the fact that you walk up a ramp the whole way rather than steps.

The view from the top is certainly worth it. Off in the distance we could see Seville's old bullfighting ring.




As we wandered around a commercial strip near the cathedral, surrounded as always by people in flamenco outfits, something on a wall down this small alley caught my eye ...

My guess was actually that the CDs must help keep birds away, and it looks like I might be right.




Emma wanted to check out some clothing stores and I enjoyed the incredibly apropos signage in this one's maternity section.

Unfortunately for us, our second and last night in Seville had to be spent at a different hotel, quite a way from the centre of the action. And with the fair on, cabs were impossible to find. So we had a fairly boring evening at an albeit decent business hotel, which at least ensured we had no trouble getting up in the morning for our flight on to Barcelona.
