[ Another day, another protest ]

Back at the main downtown square, there was another public protest. This one seemed quite a bit bigger than the others we'd seen, and there were police about, but they sure didn't seem too concered about the protesters.

[ Littered protest cards ]

We soon figured out why the police weren't too bothered by the protest: these dropped cards indicated that it was in fact the national police union that was protesting.

[ Shopping for baby clothes ]

With both my sister and Emma's best friend from childhood having recently had babies, it was a lost cause trying to keep Emma out of the baby clothing stores along the way.

[ XXX ]

For dinner that night we went to a place in the guidebook that ended up being really hard to get into. We arrived at the place to find the door locked and the lights off in the front of the restaurant, but we could see the staff at the back. It seemed like they had just closed or something, which was odd given the hour (10ish) and normal Spanish restaurant hours. We were ready to give up when a woman walking by on the street saw us looking confused and stopped to show us how to get in by going in a side door we never would have found on our own.

Inside the restaurant we made our way to the back, where we found this somewhat odd garden gazebo decor - odd because it was not outside at all. The food was pretty good, though.
