[ Flamenco dress in Seville ]

The next morning we got on the AVE high-speed train down to Seville. We knew from our outrageous hotel booking prices that we were going to be visiting during the highest season possible in the south of Spain: right in the middle of Seville's spring fair. Our guidebook had alerted us to the expected prevalence of women in traditional flamenco dresses and we ran into the first within five minutes of leaving the train station.

[ Outside the Hotel Murillo ]

Emma checks out the cafe right outside our first hotel in Seville, which came very highly recommended, and it didn't take long to see why: it was located right in the middle of the old city centre and had nice rooms and great staff.

[ The famous Spaniard John Fulton ]

We decided to just wander around a little bit and figure out where things were. One of the first things we came across was a plaque marking the studio of the famous Spanish artist ... John Fulton?

[ Seville's cathedral ]

It turned out our hotel was just a few minutes away from Seville's impressive cathedral.

[ Flamenco on phone ]
