We made a stop at the officer's wardroom, which was pretty nice, but I'm still not sure I'd want to live on a ship.

MT came to the same conclusion after taking Jillian to one of the few women's washrooms on the ship. There's also a shower crammed in there.

While the girls stayed in the wardroom, Bryan took me down another level (where the passageways were more like the cramped, oily spaces I'd imagined) into some of the lower engineering areas of the ship. It all seemed so 1970s to me with the big map of individual light bulbs.

Mr. Blurry Cam takes a look at some of the computers they use to monitor the ship's systems. The screen on the left is showing the status of the ventilation/air conditioning (one of the only systems on the ship actually running while the ship is tied up at the pier). The screen on the right is all the diagnostic error messages. Very confidence inspiring!

I'd joke that Jillian was sad to leave the ship, but actually she was just upset that her mom wouldn't carry her instead of her dad. Understandably, Jillian has a complicated relationship with her dad given the time he needs to spend at sea, but I thought she was remarkably well behaved for a two year old while we visited. We'll be lucky if Morgan is as good.
