Making the walk down the final straight was much more interesting the second time!




We managed to find Evan in parc fermé, where they scrutineer the cars. Cat called his name several times to no avail, but I got his attention immediately by yelling "Shorty!"

It was hard to get and keep Evan's attention after he came to the pit wall to speak to us about exchanging some contact lens solution and Cat's cellphone, because other people crowded up against the wall and fence wanted to talk to him too! Eventually we agreed to meet him down at the other end, and Cat asked him to bring us some cold drinks, as it was incredibly hot and humid on race day -- there, that's the one time I'll mention the heat in this entire story!




On the way up to Ferrari's end of the pit lane, we spotted the 'Bring Back Hockey' decals that Alex Schnaider had put on his Jordan-Midland cars. They're having about as good a season this year as the NHL.
