[ Again with the smiling ]

Again with the smiling, this time in front of the Nationaltheatre opera house.

[ Protesters ]

On my way back to the hotel for a rest, I came across some protesters upset about Chavez in Venezuela.

[ The Frauenkirche ]

Later that night, after a reasonably successful nap, I went out in search of food and took this shot of the Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady). It's a bit of a landmark in the city.

[ De-icing ]

After foraging for food on my last night, I went back to the hotel and tried (mostly unsuccessfully) to sleep before getting up very early to get back to the airport and my flight to London. It had rained a lot in Munich but there was snow at the airport when I got there, and that led to them de-icing the plane when we left. Still, British Airways managed to get us back into London on time. Big points for that, given what I was about to experience with Alitalia.

Final thoughts on Germany: David Hasselhoff is still on TV there, and I think escalators that turn on and off as needed are way cool. Little known fact: Captain Highliner is alive and well in Germany, selling fishsticks under the name Captain Iglo.
