The stupid part about the de-icing was that later on the Captain promised us a fantastic view of London as we came in to land, which it really would have been had the windows not been completely smeared with de-icing fluid. This is all I could see through a slightly less smeared part of the window.




Getting on the Alitalia flight to Milan, I should have known my luck was changing...




While I waited for my inexplicably delayed flight to leave London for Milan, where I had to change planes to get to Bologna, I decided to take a picture of all the people taking pictures of us from Heathrow's observation deck. Why don't more airports have these?




You're going to have to trust me on this, but this is Paris. At least I think so. The fact that it was a giant urban area partway between London and Italy with at least five large airfields visible was a big clue...
