When in Rome...


After lunch in Nanaimo, we ended up a little behind schedule trying to get to the ferry terminal at Duke Point. We even got a little lost, and had to stop at the tourist information centre to get directions. It was, if I do say so myself, the only part of the trip where I really lost my cool. But Emma is ever the optimist, and she predicted we'd get to the ferry terminal in time to still honour our reservation, which they did. Emma is usually right.




In the parking area for the ferry, we saw not one but two VW Beetles.




There must have been a convention.




On the ferry they had 'live entertainment' - but I assure you the man was so morose and underwhelmed by his gig that I'm not sure 'live' really applied. Most of his audience didn't even seem to notice him.




Unlike some ferries, on this particular boat you could be on the car deck while it was underway. They seemed not to like the idea of people leaving, however.
