The fairgrounds are evenly split between a giant sea of food tents for private dinner parties and a standard North American issue carnival setup with bumper car rides, games and carnies who may or may not smell like cabbage. All of the bumper cars in this ride were branded with F1 team names circa 1998.

One of the interesting things that Emma noticed was that there were almost no foreign tourists at the fairground. Sure, many of the people there were likely Spaniards visiting from out of town, but we were just about the only foreigners in sight. It stands to reason that with the fairgrounds a good 2km from the main tourist centre of the city, not as many visitors were as adventurous as we were and/or were content to stick closer to their hotels.
