We got a good aerial view of the fairground as the wheel started to turn.

I'll admit it: there was some nervous laughter until I got used to the sensation of rotation around the sky in an obvious death trap.

Needless to say we survived, and managed to head back into the city centre without getting lost.


[ Outside the flamenco theatre ]

After dinner that night (which was complicated only slightly by the hotel reception desk giving us the name of a nearby restaurant they recommended only to have us discover that there were two restaurants of the same name at the appointed location), we headed to a flamenco theatre for a show.

Being ignorant foreigners, we had no way of knowing whether it was 'traditional' or 'authentic' but nonetheless the flamenco dance routines we saw were pretty impressive. And hard to photograph.

The rooftop patio of our hotel offered a good view of the Seville cathedral's nighttime illumination.
