The next morning we were back at the same spot outside the cathedral as the day before. But this time we were in full-on tourist mode.




Our first stop was the royal palace next to the cathedral. A relatively huge, sprawling complex of buildings by old Spanish city standards, it was clear who had the money back in the 1300s.




Apparently the place is run by cross-discipline conservationists.




It's hard to understand why the gilded dome ceiling isn't making a big comeback in the home reno scene.
