[ London tube ]

The first thing I had to manage when I arrived in London was clear immigration, which is ludicrously easy with an EU passport. The next hurdle was figuring out how to buy a ticket for the subway - uh, tube - into downtown (also not that hard in retrospect).

[ Way Out sign ]

I guess it's a cultural thing, but stations are full of signs for the Way Out instead of the Exit. On the other hand, they also have signs outside pointing to the Entrance, not the Way In.

[ Outside Green Park station ]

This was my first view of London proper, coming out of Green Park station into the rain. The rain became an unfortunately constant fixture during my visit, but hey, it's London.

[ Hotel bathroom radio ]

My hotel was right downtown but the room was not that fantastic as hotels go. It served me nicely as a place to crash after the long flight (even though it was only about 4pm Toronto time), and featured a quaint 4-channel radio wired into the bathroom. The bathroom also had a phone. I guess Britons like to shower and phone radio call-in shows at the same time.
