[ Westminster Abbey ]

I got lost twice while I was in London, both times involving Victoria Station. I was trying to get from there to Buckingham Palace but realized I was going the wrong way when I came upon Westminster Abbey.

[ Public garbage bin ]

I felt a little weird taking a picture of a garbage bin, but not as weird as I did carrying garbage around with me all day because there are no public garbage bins in London. Sadly, it's because of bombs. That feels kind of weird too.

[ Trying to smile ]

Must... try... to... smile. Ye olde Buckingham Palace barely elicits a smirk. I showed this picture to my friend Stephanie, formerly a Globe co-worker, and she gave me grief for not trying hard enough. This was to have disastrous consequences later in the trip...

[ Canada House ]

Hey, I know those flags. Canada House overlooks Trafalgar Square which was, sadly, under construction and not feeling like having its picture taken that day. (It also wasn't up to having a few thousand people over for New Year's Eve, either. Good thing the Queen offered her garden for another Golden Jubilee concert.)
