By the time I'd stashed my stuff at the hotel and come back outside, it was nice and sunny outside. Half a block along Powell is Union Square, another SF landmark.

The first order of business was to obtain a stamp for the postcard I was going to send back. (The postcard declined to be photographed for this feature.)

Along this stretch of Stockton, they've tunnelled one street under another. (The 'natural' lie of the land is on top, I assume.) I didn't go up to the upper street, but I can only assume it disappears into the ether on
the other end.

The Church of St. Peter and St. Paul sits on the north side of Washington Square. I thought it all looked kind of familiar, and when I got home I looked on Google and found that it was in Dirty Harry. Maybe that's what I was thinking of.
